HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle Anime Films Crosses 11 Billion Earnings At The Japanese Box Office!
HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle has become the 35th highest-grossing film in Japan ever.
The film from the Haikyu!! franchise is titled HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle has crossed the earnings threshold of 11 billion yen, jumping back into the top 10 in attendance, (now ranked 9th) over the past week.
As of June 16, HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle has earned 11.05 billion yen (around 74.23 million USD) by selling over 7.71 million tickets.
This has made the film the 35th highest-grossing film in Japan ever, leaving behind Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
The film has continued to be the 15th highest-grossing anime film after The Wind Rises.
Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle also made the biggest opening of the year with 2.23 billion yen (14.87 million USD) and crossed the 5 billion yen mark in just 17 days!
About Haikyu!!
Haikyu!! is a manga series written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It was serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from February 2012 to July 2020, with its chapters collected in 45 tankōbon volumes.
From April to September 2014, MBS broadcast a 25-episode adaptation of the Production I.G. anime television series. Between October 2015 and March 2016, a second season consisting of 25 episodes was broadcast.
Between October and December 2016, a third season consisting of ten episodes was broadcast. In two installments spanning from January to December 2020, a total of 25 episodes comprised the fourth season, which was officially unveiled at the Jump Festa ’19.

Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school.
Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
