Pochita’s True Form, The Black Chainsaw Man, Returns In Chainsaw Man Manga To Avenge Nayuta!
Fujimoto really gave us a heart attack in the previous chapter, destroying Denji’s psyche by making Nayuta’s head appear on a sushi bar plate.
Chainsaw Man chapter 171 delivered what I and the fans expected to happen after reading the last chapter. The Black Chainsaw Man, aka Pochita’s TRUE FORM, finally returns to avenge Nayuta and attack the Public Safety officers who are ganging up around Denji and Asa Mitaka and arrest them.

Tatsuki Fujimoto really gave us a heart attack in the previous chapter, basically destroying Denji’s psyche even further by casually making Nayuta’s head appear on a sushi bar plate.
And the culprit is Barem Bridge, the 2nd in command at the Church. He wanted Denji to drop rock bottom once again (just like after watching Power die in front of his eyes), by showing that he isn’t capable of saving his loved ones unless he unleashes the strongest form of Chainsaw Man, the Black Chainsaw Man.
Barem states that Denji needs 2 things to unleash his strongest form:
- He should be the MOST FEARED Devil on the planet or garner enough fear to fuel its power
- Denji’s unhappiness
Regarding the 1st condition, Barem mentions that Chainsaw Man has become the most feared object on Earth, on par with aging and sickness. In recent chapters, several people have suddenly sprouted chainsaws from their heads and have died on the spot. So that increases the fear of chainsaws in the minds of people.
And the second condition just got fulfilled and the first thing Denji does by using Pochita’s true form is kill Barem himself! He pulls his head off and rips it apart from his body, just like how Asa did after the War Devil, Yoru, possessed her body.

Meanwhile, the Public Safety officers have caught sight of the Black Chainsaw Man and are prepping hard to exterminate the Devil once and for all. But will they actually succeed? A lot of fans think otherwise LOL, including myself.

Chainsaw Man fans are beyond ecstatic to see Black Chainsaw Man after 2 years since the Control Devil arc. But the question is, will Denji actually remember this time? Only time will tell but in the meantime, take a look at what fans had to say about the chapter!

About Chainsaw Man:
Chainsaw Man is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto.
