One Piece Broke The Guinness World Record For The Most DVDs Released By A TV Anime Series
One Piece also made history by breaking the record for most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author.
During the One Piece Day ’24 livestream on Aug 11, 2024, the One Piece franchise now holds the Guinness World Record for the most DVDs by an ongoing anime. The series has accrued 300 discs as of the last DVD, the first part of the Egghead Arc, which was released on August 7.
However, this isn’t the first time One Piece broke the Guinness World Record. In Oct 2023, Eiichiro Oda and One Piece made history by breaking the Guinness World Record for most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author.
This will only push the popularity of the series even closer to the likes of Naruto and Dragon Ball as Oda and Toei aren’t going to end the series anytime soon.
