In a tweet posted by “Vinland World”, it is revealed that during Otakufest 2024, held in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, Takahiko Abiru, the character designer for Vinland Saga, asked fans to inform Twin Engine (the adaptation’s producer) of their interest in Season 3.

The Vinland Saga World (Facebook counterpart to Vinland World) further clarified that Abiru cannot confirm any development on the Vinland Saga Season 3 anime production due to “potential contractual restrictions”.

Series director Shuhei Yabuta had also experienced a similar situation when during a livestream in October 2020, he and the staff asked for fan support but chose not to confirm the news. By the time of the Season 2 announcement, the Vinland Saga fan community had already understood that Season 2 had been in production for some time.

Nevertheless, Abiru requests the fans to mention (respectfully) Twin Engine on Twitter and has reposted the Vinland World tweet to relay his sentiments to the online community. After this posting, many Vinland Saga fans began airing their requests for the third season.
