The launch of Netflix’s live-action One Piece has spawned new fans of Eiichiro Oda’s sprawling sea world and seemingly broke the curse of live-action adaptations. With Season 2 confirmed to be in production, there is hope that the live-action can adapt the rest of the story with the same or better quality as Season 1 in how it adapted East Blue.

In a handwritten message from Eiichiro Oda himself, it is confirmed that Season 2 of the One Piece Live Action will cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. This means that the majority of the Arabasta Saga will be covered during this season’s run while the Arabasta Arc itself will be in next season.

Additionally, starting August 21 (Wednesday) until August 23 (Friday), new cast members will be announced. The roles of Chopper, Robin, Vivi, Ace, and even Crocodile are highly anticipated.

So far, there have been 11 cast members confirmed for the roles of Miss Valetine (Jazzara Jaslyn), Mr. 3 (David Dastmalchian), Mr. 5 (Camrus Johnson), Mr. 9 (Daniel Lasker), Crocus (Clive Russell), Brogy(Brendan Murray), Dorry (Werner Coetse), Dalton (Ty Keogh ), Smoker (Callum Kerr), Tashigi (Julia Rehwald), and Wapol (Rob Colletti).

One Piece is a manga series written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda in 1997 for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. The live-action adaptation of the series by Netflix was originally released on August 31, 2023.
