SAMURA IS THE TRAITOR!!! Kagurabachi Chapter 57 Spoilers!
Kagurabachi now has its traitor. Does he have good reasons to see the Enchanted Blade users dead.
In the previous Kagurabachi chapter, Samura regains his Tobimune thanks to Hakuri’s Storehouse and prepares to fight the Hishaku.
Chapter 57 is titled, “Crumbling”
This chapter has 19 pages.
Editor’s note: Hakuri succeeded in transferring the Tobimune.. and now..!
The chapter brings us back to the theater with Hiruhiko and Chihiro, Hiruhiko expresses his frustration at losing
Meanwhile in the Temple of Senketsu, it seems the Tree Hishaku has vanished after Tobimune summoned the murder of crows at the end of last chapter.
From afar, the Hishaku member stands on top of the tree, having escaped due to Samura being particularly strong among the Enchanted Blade users due to his mastery of swordsmanshi and vanishes, worried about getting into trouble with Yura and the other Hishaku.
So far, it is established that he is a far better swordsman than Uruha at least and perhaps even Sojo.
The Makizumi captain apologizes to Samura for having him save them but Samura attributes this effort to Hakuri, who gave back Tobimune to Samura.
Hakuri prepares to give back Uruha’s Kumeyuri but Hakuri has been bleeding profusely and the Makizumi tells Hakuri that they need to treat him immediately.
There is no need to rush since all of the Hishaku’s forces have already been exhausted.
They will now proceed to another Sansou to hide and recover.
Before they retreat, Samura takes note of one of the monks that lost his life in the battle.
Fuura Ryou, a 22 years old monk, who arrived three years ago, with the protection of the Temple of Senketsu as his first mission.
The monk had a younger sister, who was 14 years old but has no money and so the monk’s paycheck goes to her.
The Makizumi girl remarked that the man dd not die in vain and the fight has ended anyway but Samura is more pessimistic, saying that it is only the beginning.
Back in the theater, Hiruhiko remarked that he has failed his mission with Tobimune’s retrieval.
Chihiro now knows that Hakuri has accomplished his mission.
Hiruhiko reveals that Yura wants the “Sword Saint” dead so he can wield the Shinuchi, Magatsumi.
Chihiro remarks that the Hishaku are out of options and that the contractors will not die.
Hiruhiko mutters about “a hero to protect” and realizes this is why Yura thinks that Chihiro is “too green to cut”.
Hiruhiko asks Chihiro about school, a heartwarming place he considers beyond the reach for monsters like himself, the Hishaku and Chihiro.
Hiruhiko explains that the children were taught about how the wielders of the Enchanted Blade, such as the Sword Saint are equal to Kunishige Rokuhira as “heroes”.
Everyone was taught how these heroes saved the country but Chihiro recalled how his father never talked about Shinuchi or the Sword Saint.
Hiruhiko reveals these teachings are just “the surface” and tells Chihiro to recall what he saw in the Rakuzaichi auction when he saw the “tip” of the Shinuchi’s powers in action through Kyoura.
Chihiro wondered what exactly the Enchanted Blades were for.
We might slowly see Chihiro start to doubt the true nature of the Enchanted Blades’ sorcery and their origin.
Was it just Datenseki and its ability to enhance a person’s spirit energy?
Additionally, of all the former wielders, why was the Sword Saint the only one who is kept under lock and key by the Kamunabi, rather than be freely protected like Samura, Uruha, and the rest.
At first, Chihiro thought it was because his father needed to keep the blades’ powers a secret but then he clashed with Kyoura Sazanami and noticed how he suddenly changed personalities when he borrowed a fraction of Magatsumi’s power
As Chihiro was dwelling in his overwhelmed thoughts, Hiruhiko reveals something surprising.
Samura made a deal with Yura, the leader of the Hishaku, three years ago.
As Hiruhiko was talking, his origami butterflies were headed for a sword.
Hiruhiko revealed that Samura believed that the wielders are the ones who should die.
This shocks Chihiro.
He recalls how Samura said that he has no choice but to keep battling in that darkness but it might have hinted towards Samura’s betrayal all this time!
Suddenly, a blade falls close by, which distracts Chihiro long enough for Hiruhiko to get away.
Hiruhiko grabs his sliced off arm with his mouth and throws it towards Chihiro
Something pierces through the window but then Chihiro looks behind him.
He sees Hiruhiko wield Kumeyuri with just his mouth and summons two geisha from the blade at the end of the chapter.
This is shocking since it is established that the Hishaku can only use the powers of the Enchanted Blades unless they kill the original wielders first.
The traitor was revealed quite quickly. We could have waited for enough time to bond but his persona of someone who hates pointless sacrifices might have been the right time for that.
But what does this also mean for Uruha? How is he able to release the power of the blade without having it?
What do the Hishaku know about the Blades.
Editor’s note: Samura.. Uruha.. Things are getting complicated.
Kagurabachi Chapter 58 will be released on November 17, 2024.
