It is not specified what the bonus content will be.
Whether these are side chapters, such as the ones for promoting movies, or additional stories to tie to the ending, they will round the number of pages to the typical volume format.
A similar situation occurred with the release of the final volume of Attack on Titan, which released an additional 4 pages to the manga ending months after the final chapter was released and said scenes have also been adapted into its anime adaptation.
My Hero Academia Volume 42 will cover Chapters 423: “One for All vs All for One” to Chapter 430: “My Hero Academia” for a total of 8 chapters, which have a total of 126 pages
My Hero Academia ended with Chapter 430 on August 5, 2024, having reached ten years of publication since its first chapter was released on July 7, 2024.
My Hero Academia’s final chapters have received some mixed to positive reception, with most complaints stemming from Deku “peaking in high school” after losing his Quirk in the Final War Arc and some while others were satisfied there was even an epilogue arc and many plot threads being neatly tied up.
Will these additions improve or maintain the fandom’s reception of the ending to My Hero Academia?
