One Piece Theory: Elbaph is the Father of All Devil Fruits

The latest One Piece chapter is now telling us that Elbaph is the missing key to the biggest mysteries of the series. If Elbaph does hold the Devil Fruit Tree, the mystery of the One Piece treasure itself can be fully realized too!

Chapter 1131: “Loki in the Underworld”  has confirmed that Yggdrasil is Treasure Tree Adam. But the timing is too perfect since Vegapunk finally revealed exactly what Devil Fruits are: inherited will incarnate.

And now in the land of Giants, where a “D Clan” might be, we are about to enter the final stage of the mysteries of One Piece.

Loki, the supposed Sun God, tied to the Treasure Tree Adam that is bound to the Warland nation

The Story of Treasure Tree Adam

In Chapter 431: “Fist of Love”, Franky tells us the story of a war-torn land that rebuilt around the fabled Treasure Tree Adam.

Now in Chapter 1131, exactly 700 chapters, we learn that Elbaph is an island with the Treasure Tree Adam and the kingdom built around is called “Warland”, with the Giants embracing a warrior culture.

This means that the kingdom was a literal product of thousands of years of wars and the Giants rebuilt throughout the years yet in spite of this background, the Giants continue to wage eternal war

Known for being the world’s strongest wood, the Treasure Tree Adam’s wood was used to make the Thousand Sunny as it was acquired by Franky from the black market for 200 million Berries.

Gol D. Rogers’ Oro Jackson was also made of the same wood and if they share the same source, this means that Roger’s crew has been to Elbaf, likely in the first trip Roger took before undertaking the path to seek the One Piece.

Sunlight Tree Eve

Meanwhile, we have the Sunlight Tree Eve, a colossal tree that takes in sunlight like any other tree but it transfers that light through its roots and also supplies air from the photosynthetic process into the roots that are on the ocean floor.

This is the reason why the ocean and Fishman Island shine so brightly.

King Neptune also mentions that the Sunlight Tree Eve is the “boss” of the  Yurukiman Mangrove at the Sabaody Archipelago, which gives it a correlation.

In Chapter 612 “Taken by the Shark They Saved”, Usopp makes a connection between the Treasure Tree Adam Franky used to make the Thousand Sunny and the Sunlight Tree Eve, so Oda wants us to think that we will come back to this point.

Now in Chapter 1131, we are slowly seeing the relevance of Treasure Tree Adam, the tree that helped build the Thousand Sunny.

This tree is the source and homeland of Elbaph’s giants and we are in the Final Saga, where the Final War for the One Piece will be waged.

Lodestar Island might contain the location of Sunlight Tree Eve, where Devil Fruits are still being made and spread across the world, fueled by the imaginations of the people.

But how exactly are Devil Fruits made?

One Piece Might be the First Battle Shonen Manga to Explain Tree Reproduction

We should establish exactly how exactly trees reproduce.

This begins with the male part of the tree releasing pollen, which can be carried by the wind or insects.

The pollen would then be transferred to the female part of a tree, penetrating the ovule to develop seeds that are encased inside fruits.

After some time, the fruits would detach, along with their seeds, which would be what is left of the fruit to grow new trees.

Alternatively, birds and other animals could eat the fruits and the seeds would pass through them to return to the soil and eventually grow into more trees.

That is real-life nature but how would the Devil Fruits be born?

There is only one Treasure Tree Adam, according to Franky’s story and from Neptune’s story, Sunlight Tree Eve is the only one in existence so far.

This could imply that Treasure Tree Adam might have a distinct male organ (stamen) and Sunlight Tree Eve has the female organ (pistil) but it is also possible that both have female and male parts.

However, the Treasure Tree Adam’s pollen might be the only trigger to create Devil Fruits for an unknown reason.

Yet the Sunlight Tree Eve is unique in its nature due to how light travels through its roots and produces air.

What if the pollen from Treasure Tree Adam is able to produce a fruit that carries the light property within itself?

Alternative, what if all the wars in Warland have brought with them the dreams and souls of those who passed away in the form of the Treasure Tree’s pollen that is transferred to the Sunlight Tree to become Devil Fruits.

It would be a crazy idea but make sense.

From the start of the series, we were told that Devil Fruits curse humans by making them “hated by the sea”.

Pollen from war and suffering enters the flowers that emit the world’s light would create a blasphemous combination that the sea itself would hate as that pollen filled with malice and death could have a negative influence on the state of the Sunlight Tree Eve.

In a way, Treasure Tree Adam facilitates the reincarnation of Elbaph’s Giants or possibly even that of the Ancient Kingdom, a wartorn land that held the D Clan, the Bucaneers, and possibly the Lunarians and Shandians.

The conflict with the 20 Kingdoms could have destroyed everything except the Treasure Tree and some of the Giants that survived the conflict and would go on to construct the kingdom of Warland.

Nika and the Origin of Devil Fruits

In One Piece, humans create God, not God create humans.

Nika is a manifestation of the people’s strong belief in the Elbaph Sun God, resulting in a fruit that embodies the Devil Fruit concept in its totality: a body free without limit, smiling and bringing joy to the world.

There are two ways to understand Nika’s connection to the Devil Fruits: he is the first Devil Fruit or he is the last fruit of Sunlight Tree Eve.

The accumulated desires for the Sun God to save the oppressed would mean that the Sun God Nika was born after the Void Century or around the fall of the Ancient Kingdom but this would not work since there have always been wars and atrocities before the rise of the Ancient Kingdom hegemony or the World Government hegemony.

This means that Nika was an old existence tied to the culture of the Ancient Kingdom or the giants

If Nika was the first Devil Fruit to precede all others, that means that it would be the template for all others and act as the world’s response to the tragic fall of the Ancient Kingdom.

A 2022 theory proposed by WorstGen website is that the golden resin from the Treasure Tree Adam might have created Nika in an unknown time and when Nika died, his soul would manifest his laughter and joy into the Nika Fruit.

Alternatively, if Devil Fruits always existed since time immemorial, one of the two trees would be capable of absorbing different elements from the air.

For example, Logia Fruits would be an accumulation of all the natural elements embodied by the various islands around the world.

Zoan Fruits would come from the different animals that fed on or lived and died near any of the Trees.

Paramecia Fruits would be the products of human ingenuity, whether for war or for the good of all, and these would follow the format of dreams being the source of Devil Fruits, which makes sense for why the Nika fruit became, or rather was perceived as, a Paramecia that gave the user a rubber body.

However, I would be more inclined to see Nika as the first Devil Fruit, the one to usher in the Dawn of the World, both the origin of all things but also the end of the oppressive status quo.

Joyboy was the first pirate and perhaps even the first Nika.

But since Nika pre-existed Joyboy, then it is possible that there would have been other events, maybe even more tragic than the current history, to have brought about the creation of these Devil Fruits long before the World Government erased the Ancient Kingdom from history.

After all, Elbaph was made into “Warland” and the giants embrace war as part of their culture.

Their land was a center of warfare, which would lend to the idea that the misery and corruption would have seeped into Adam to produce a corrupt, devilish power from human imagination beyond death.

Mixed in with Eve’s ability to acquire sunlight to produce food within its leaves and roots and you have the means by which One Piece produces its Devil Fruits.
