In the previous Blue Lock chapter, we see Isagi and Kaiser team up to defeat Rin but instead, they face an even bigger threat, another pair of prodigies working together, Karasu and Charles.

Blue Lock Chapter 287 is titled, “Because You Were There”

This chapter has 20 pages.

The chapter begins with the ball still flying in the middle of the two genius pairs.

Kaiser and Isagi’s combined logic gets barely stopped by Paris X-Gen’s talented learners, Karasu and Charles Chevalier.

Isagi notes that brute strength is not enough to score a goal and that they should discard emotions.

Before any of the Bastard Munchen players reach the ball, Shidou takes the ball, resulting in him getting triple pressed by Bastard Munchen players.

After this, Shiou passes the ball to Rin, much to Raichi’s surprise.

Inspired by the Triple Ace performance from Gagamaru, Isagi, and Kaiser, Shidou suggests ro Rin that they should link up too.

Karasu and Charles join up with Rin, a new trio: two prodigies and one genius.

Just as Shidou prepares to shoot the ball, Igaguri suddenly goes after them and grabs Shidou.

However, the ball still reaches Rin, who is blocked by Isagi and Kaiser.

Rin remarks that the pair’s thoughts have completely merged as they are the walls preventing his movements.

Isagi remarks that the joint struggle is fun and that the prodigy’s methods now outclass geniuses.

Rin tries to shoot the ball but it simply flies over the goal.

We see a cool panel of Isagi and Kaiser turning around, with Isagi telling the geniuses to “play soccer more seriously,” proving to Rin that prodigies have better brains.

We then see a clip of Igaguri’s move against Shidou, which the commentator remarks is a foul.

Igaguri gets a yellow card, much to his horror.

Noa calls for a substitution, saying that the plan to use Igaguri’s body to throw Rin off has failed and Paris X-Gen have seen through this and that Igaguri should get out before he ruins the match.

Igaguri kneels down and begs Noa not to sub him, saying that he has not gotten an offer yet and if so, he will lose his chance to proceed in the Neo-Egoist League.

Noa looks down on Igaguri coldly, saying that there is no rationality in his demand because the only goal is victory and that all unnecessary things must be removed from the field.

Igaguri laments over how his adventure in Blue Lock is over.

Then Isagi comes forward and pats him on the head, saying that without Igaguri, Isagi would not be here in the Neo-Egoist League in the first place.

Puzzle pieces fall, holding the memories both boys shared.

Igaguri cries as the chapter ends with Isagi expressing delight that the 300th player of Blue Lock…is Gurimu Igaguri!

Editor’s note: “The overflowing tears become the words of youth. This emotion will never fade.
