Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Returns in Winter 2026
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku’s Season 2 teaser promises improved animation and better art direction befitting the story.
After its 2023 anime debut, Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku announces its second season will arrive on January 2026.
Along with the release date announcement, we also get a teaser.
We see Sagiri and the others among the convict-executioner alliance emerging from the outer section of Horai, the Palace of Lord Tensen while Gabimaru faces off against one of the Tensen that sprout vines against him.
We cut to one of the Tensen, the leader Rien, looking at a field of flowers. Gabimaru stares at the moon but his distant wife Yui vanishes into darkness in his sights.
The trailer ends as Gabimaru is enveloped in his Fire Tao that seemingly forms a hand that lets him go.
Hell’s Paradise Season 1 ended on Chapter 45 with the post-credits appearance of Shugen, the strongest of the Yamada Asaemon executioners, whose arrival is shown alongside his companions Jikka, Isuzu and Kiyomaru.
The clash between the first and second expedition will be the content of the upcoming season.
While there is no episode count announced, if it will be 13 episodes like the previous season, it will cover Volume 6 at least up to Volume 10
The teaser features some great animation and neat artistic concepts on the last Gabimaru scene.
While most of the staff under director Kaori Makita return, there are new staff members.
Chika Toda (assistant director of photography for Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 and RE-MAIN) is the new director of photography, replacing Hyo Gyu Park (director of photography for Jujutsu Kaisen 0 and Dorohedoro)
Junichi Higashi (Dandadan and Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 Art Director) is the new art director, replacing e-caesar (art director for Jujutsu Kaisen 0).
Ryota Suzuki (voice actor for Ishigami from Kaguya-Sama: Love is War and Heisuke for the upcoming Sakamoto Days anime) is confirmed to play Shugen.
About Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is a manga written and illustrated by Yuji Kaku for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from January 2018 to January 2021, reaching 13 volumes.
A 13-episode anime television series adaptation produced by MAPPA aired from April to July 2023.
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku is set in Shogunate Japan where Gabimaru the Hollow, the most infamous ninja of the time, is sentenced to death for his many crimes, and is brought alongside several death row convicts and their Yamato Asaemon executioners to the mysterious island of Kotaku to search for the elusive Elixir of Life to receive their pardon from the Shogun.
Along the way, they encounter heaven and hell in one place, a world ruled by immortal sages called Lord Tensen.
Fans consider Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku as one of the so-called “Dark Shonen Trio” alongside Chainsaw Man and Jujutsu Kaisen. All three have been adapted by MAPPA within the 2020s.
