Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Unveils Stunning New Key Visual at Jump Festa

Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3’s first key visual is praised for its creativity and grim tone.

During the first day of Jump Festa 2025 on December 21, 2024, Jujutsu Kaisen unveiled its first official key visual of Season 3, titled, “Culling Game”.

With a blood red backdrop, this visual shows an image of Yuji on a window, bearing what appears to be a red hand, either his gauntlets used in the Shinjuku Showdown that hide his missing fingers or Sukuna’s own hand since Yuji continues to feel guilt for Sukuna’s rampage in the Shibuya Incident last season.

Below the window is Yuji himself sitting down on the stairs, just like in Chapter 138: “The Zenin Clan”.

It comes with the tagline: “I can’t be with you guys anymore”

There is no set date for Season 3.

Season 3 will begin with Chapter 138: “The Zenin Clan” and will likely end on Chapter 221: “Gain and Loss”, which would make Season 3 the most dense in terms of content at 83 chapters, compared to Season 2’s 74 chapters.

Along with this key visual, we also receive one for the compilation film, “Hidden Inventory Arc”, covering the first five episodes of Season 2 set for release on May 30, 2025 in Japanese theaters.

The line, “next challenge”, could indicate a new series.

Will this be a sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen or a new manga entirely?

Other than praise for Season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen under Goshozono’s direction, there is no indication that Akutami plans to continue Jujutsu Kaisen’s story or any hints of more active involvement with the anime team.

Akutami has been noted to be quite the fan of the anime, incorporating its visuals to the manga, such as the use of sakuga smears as manga panels (as shown when characters run).

The anime inspired the existence of sorcerers using “air walks” being integrated late into the Culling Game. as stated in his notes in Volume 28.
