Haikyu!! Final Movie Is Not the End of the Anime As First Trailer and Post-Timeskip Projects Are Unveiled

On March 2, 2025, during the “HAIKYU!! TV Anime 10th Anniversary Event -NEXT STEP-“, the final Haikyu!! movie has released its first trailer.

Titled, “HAIKYU!!: “VS The Little Giant” Movie!”, the movie will cover the Karasuno VS Kamomedai match as the title is taken from the title of both Chapter 343 and Volume 39: “Little Giants”.

However, there has been a recent change to the film as it is no longer listed as “Final” on the official Haikyu website.

Another trailer was released for the “HAIKYU!!: “The Place Where Monsters Go” short anime that is set to adapt the “Fukurodani VS Mujinazaka” match.

For the final chapters of the story, two Haikyuu!! final films were announced, with the first, “Haikyu!! The Dumpster Battle”, released on February 16, 2024 in Japan.

The Dumpster Battle adapted Chapter 293: “Promised Land” to Chapter 326 “Afternoon”, a total of 33 chapters.

The “Little Giants” movie, still set in the Tokyo Nationals Arc, will potentially conclude the arc that began in Season 4, albeit skipping some content for the new short anime.

This means that the second movie will adapt a total of 34 chapters, from Chapter 327: “The Volleyball Bug” to the last chapter, Chapter 369: “Food Becomes Muscle”.

This is an additional ten chapters to adapt compared to the first movie, which clocked in at 1 hour, 25 minutes.

While the announcement of two Final movies have fans worried since 2022, this recent update has dispelled any concerns about the loss of the Final arc.

Sequel Series

Another teaser was released, which confirmed that the second movie will not be the end for the Haikyu anime.

There will be a short anime titled, “HAIKYU!!: “The Place Where Monsters Go” , taken from the title of Chapter 336,  will be a short anime that adapts Chapter 328: “The Game You Can’t Afford to Lose” to Chapter 337: “Next”.

Although the format has not been announced, the short anime will be broadcast on TV.

With 9 chapters, this could last two episodes or so.

There has been no confirmation of an adaptation of the Final Arc, which covers Chapter 370: “Challengers Part 2” and Chapter 402: “Challengers”, a total of 32 chapters, which could indicate a possible movie adaptation to wrap up the series.

Haikyu!! would be adapted by Production I.G. (Kaiju No. 8, Psycho-Pass, Heavenly Delusion) from April 6, 2014 to December 19, 2020 with four seasons and 85 episodes total, along with 5 OVAs.
