In the previous Chainsaw Man chapter, Fami refuses an alliance with Yoshida and Public Safety to focus on the school festival while Yoru points her Gun Devil finger at Denji.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 195 is titled, “Kill Me Tears”
This chapter has 14 pages.
The chapter continues where we left off as Asa, traumatized by the Gun Goddess (Statue of Liberty or Ju no Megami) incident in Chapter 178, decides to end herself by making Denji do it at the threat of his life.
But it is beyond her trauma, instead Asa reveals that Yoru has an even more terrifying plan than even the Death Devil’s desire for humanity’s extinction, such that Asa does not want to say it.
Makima wanted a world of order and absolute control, where everything was perfect.
Fami wants a world where she can enjoy her pleasures.
Death wanted a world without humans.
But what future does the War Devil envision? A world of constant conflict and fear?
What could truly be a fate worse than death?
Asa says that she was a fool for thinking she could be friends with a Devil like Yoru but after Denji spent some time getting to know Yoru and Asa, Denji thinks they could still be friends.
That and because of Denji’s relationships with Power and Nayuta, two Devils who were as human as they come.
Denji then throws a chair as part of his attempt to kill her but instead this makes Asa panic and call Denji a murderer for how willful he seems to do this.
Denji explains how differently the two view death: Denji does not mind since he is immortal and always comes back to life but someone like Asa, who can die only once, will never be mentally prepared for it.
Asa and Denji sit together, with Asa still crying over the trauma she experienced being possessed by the War Devil.
To help her get her mind off it, Denji tells her that they can think about the consequences after he defeats the Death Devil and that Asa focus instead on having fun by shooting the empty buildings.
We cut to the Fourth East High School where the teacher is talking to a new transfer student and he remarks that he is surprised that the girl is choosing now to move to Tokyo, just as he is surprised that the city still wants to push through with the school festival.
We meet the new transfer student, a girl with wild hair but also notable concentric eyes, the trait of a Horseman of the Apocalypse.
She tells everyone that she is here to save everyone.
Now the timing could not be anymore perfect.
Nayuta is gone and there is only one month until the prophecy.
But what if the prophecy has been subverted due to the actions of Denji, Yoru and Fami?
What if this girl IS Death herself?
Coming to save them? Is she here to save them from Yoru the War Devil or is this her way of justifying her actions, that to save humanity is to kill them, so that they do not suffer the fate of creating their own devils?
Alternative, could this girl be the third known reincarnation of the Control Devil now that Nayuta is dead?
Nayuta did not need a few years to grow into a little girl yet she immediately appeared that way after Makima’s death.
How much more if she appeared as a teenager?
From what we see, this girl is a nervous wreck, biting on the sleeve of her uniform.
A surprisingly interesting trait for the true final villain of all Chainsaw Man, the ultimate devil herself.
Chainsaw Man Chapter 196 will be released on March 11, 2025.
