1) Luffy Was Born On Children’s Day:
According to SBS One Piece manga Volume 79, page 186, Luffy’s birthday falls on May 5.
This is in fact the Japanese Children’s day, a nod towards his goofy and childish character!
2)Â He Is Brazillian:
According to SBS One Piece manga Volume 56, page 144, Luffy’s nationality in our would’ve been Brazillian.
On the same page, Oda has thought of the nationality of all the Strawhats and more!
3) Luffy Bathes Once A Week:
Being the most childish, it shouldn’t be surprising that Luffy nags about hygiene, just like kids!
The SBSÂ One Piece Manga, Volume 67, page 182 reveals that Luffy only bathes once a week, just like his crew members Zoro and Brook!
4) He Likes To Eat Ice Cubes:
We all know that meat means the world to Luffy, but what else does he like to eat?
Ice cubes. Apparently, Luffy, Chopper, Ussop, Robin, and Brook love to eat ice cubes as well!
5) Luffy Can Stretch His Penis:
During the early days of One Piece, curious fans of the show had some interesting questions about Luffy and his powers.
One such question was: can Luffy stretch his penis? Oda simply replied yes, he can! In fact, in chapter 514 of the manga, Luffy’s “manhood” was elongated!
Sweet pea misunderstood Luffy’s chunk for mushroom and kept pulling it!
6) He Only Appears On Shonen Jump Covers:
During an interview in 2013, Oda commented that he has a personal policy that Luffy can never appear on the cover of a magazine that is not Weekly Shonen Jump!
When One Piece provides the cover for a spin-off magazine, Luffy can never be seen on the cover page.
7) Luffy Is One Of The Only People Who Can Hear The Voice Of All Things:
The voice of all things, previously an anime-only ability, became canon as the manga added the ability as well.
This ability allows the user to talk to animals and inanimate objects. So far, only Luffy, Momonosuke, Gol D. Roger, Kozuki Oden, Zunesha, and the Three-Eye Tribe have this ability!
8) Luffy Is The First Devil Fruit User:
When Luffy made his debut in the first chapter of the manga, he used to powers of his Devil Fruit, Gomu Gomu no mi!
This made him the first user of Devil-Fruits in the series!
9) He Is The First Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit User:
Back then, Luffy was the first paramecia-type Devil Fruit user.
Now, after the gear 5 reveal, Luffy is the first Mythical Zoan Devil Fruit User as well!
10) Luffy Is The First Emperor To Never Serve A Captain:
So far, every Empeprors has served under a captain, like Shanks and Buggy D. Clown under Gol D. Roger.
