One Piece Day To Be Celebrated With New Event On July 21-22
This event will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center and will be live-streamed on YouTube as well.
On Monday, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Shueisha, and Toei Animation announced that they will hold “One Piece Day” on July 21 and 22.
The event is a two-day celebration of the debut of the acclaimed manga by Eiichiro Oda.
This event will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight convention center and will be live-streamed on YouTube as well.
The event is set to feature a “cheering” screening of the One Piece Film Red on the first day. Here, shouting and cheering will be allowed.
The second day will have a stage event featuring cast members and announcements for merchandise and other activities.
In 2017, the Japan Anniversary Association announced July 22 as “One Piece Day”, commemorating the anniversary of the manga’s debut.
It has been celebrated ever since. Last year, the event was celebrated on July 22-23.
One Piece is a Japanese anime television series, based on a manga by Eiichiro Oda of the same name.
The anime is produced by Toei Animation and premiered on Fuji TV in October 1999.
The anime has over 1,000 episodes, fourteen feature movies, one OVA, and thirteen TV specials.
The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since July 1997, with its individual chapters compiled into 104 tankobon volumes as of November 2022.
As of August 2022, One Piece had over 516.6 million copies in circulation in 61 countries and regions worldwide, making it the best-selling manga series in history, and the best-selling comic series printed in book volume.
