JASRAC Awards is a yearly award given by the “Japanese Society for Rights of Authors, Composers, and Publishers” (JASRAC).
The organisation was founded in 1939 as a non-profit and is currently the largest musical copyright administration society in Japan.
The JASRAC Awards were established in 1982, and awards are given on the basis of the royalty earned by the right holder in the previous year.
The JASRAC Awards are given out depending on the amount of royalties earned from April to March of each year.
The Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards are given to the three domestic works with the highest total royalties.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Work Award is given to the foreign musical work with the highest total royalties.
The International Award is given to the work with the highest royalties from foreign copyright societies.
