Oshi No Ko Opening ‘Idol’ Surges To No.1 On Billboard Global Excluding U.S. Chart

‘Idol’ is also the first which was originally sung in Japanese and has topped the Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.) Charts.

The official Twitter account of the YOASOBI shared the exciting news of their recent achievement.

YOASOBI’s latest song ‘Idol’ has topped the Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.) Charts, jumping to No. 1 from No. 6.

The song has 45.7 million streams and 24,000 copies sold outside the U.S.

‘Idol’ is also the first that was originally sung in Japanese and has topped the Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.) Charts.

It has also been No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for seven weeks now.

YOASOBI’s ‘Idol’ was released on April 12 and is written by Ayase based on Aka Akasaka’s manga, Oshi No Ko.

YOASOBI also shared the official English version of the song on May 26.

The song is also the opening theme of the Oshi No Ko anime, which also premiered on April 12.

The anime is being animated by the studio Doga Kobo.

YOASOBI is a Japanese music duo formed in 2019. The tag team is made up of Vocaloid producer Ayase and singer Ikura.

The group’s debut song, ‘Yoru ni Kakeru’ gave them their breakthrough by reaching the Billboard Japan Hot 100.
