Adult SSJ4 Goku and Adult SSJ3 Vegeta Make Their CANON DEBUT! Dragon Ball Daima Episode 19 Review.
Vegeta and Goku go all out in the penultimate episode of Dragon Ball Daima Episode 19, a mix of heart and great animation.

In the previous Dragon Ball: Daima episode, we were treated to the thrilling debut of SSJ4 since Dragon Ball: GT 28 years ago, making that series somewhat canon while we also witness Glorio make the wish.
Will he actually give power to Arinsu or restore the Dragon Team to their adult forms?
Dragon Ball: Daima Episode 19 is titled, “Betrayal”.
The episode begins with the immediate fulfillment of Glorio’s wish, which, as expected, was the return of the Dragon Team to their adult forms, especially based on the last word.
Dr. Arinsu is left confused.
Although just returning to their adult forms, Goku insists that he and Vegeta takes turns fighting Gomah’s empowered form but when the turn system was done for the fight against Majin Duu in Episode 17, Goku already used his turn.
This means we finally get Vegeta to match with Gomah, this time in adult form.
What we see is a clear difference in comfort and power as Vegeta effortlessly punches and flies through Gomah.
It is fitting that Gomah gets his second wind by growing bigger, just in time for the chibi Z Fighters to turn into adults.
But if we scale things, it feels like Vegeta performed here much better than he would against Gomah’s original Third Eye form, as even when he was in base form, Vegeta did not look like he was having a hard time, only that he was doing a warm-up.
Eventually, he does choose to assume his Super Saiyan form and then immediately with a Super Saiyan 3 form, which results in a massive increase in power as a punch to the abdomen from SSJ3 does much damage to Gomah.
Meanwhile, Glorio thanks Arinsu for taking care of him and while we never see his actual past, this is where Daima actually gets some much-needed subtlety as Glorio was essentially a thug or had a hard life in the Third Demon World
We already established that the Three Demon Worlds, like the Walls of Attack on Titan, are an allegory for the class system, with the Third Demon World being poor, chaotic and unattended by the government, letting only the military clean up and tax the populace, the Second Demon World having strong and uninvolved members of the middle class like the Megaths.
Throughout Daima, there are hints that behind the conspiracy and scheming, Arinsu is a more decent person than she admits.
Because she seemed hurt that Glorio chose her enemies over her.
That is until Majin Kuu promises to stick around, so she lets out a smile.
Glorio goes to the team, feeling shame for what he had done but he is greeted quickly by Panzy, who hugs him for the wish he granted.
Goku also nods at approval over Glorio’s decision and finally says his name right.
Often, people have complained about Goku’s degrading intelligence in Dragon Ball Super but so far, Daima has made his IQ more consistent.
He has the childlike pure heart he always had but that did not mean stupidity at all, which Super fundamentally misinterpreted.
So perhaps Goku did know how to say Glorio’s name but it is just a gag or out of his happy-go-lucky nature.
Vegeta’s Super Saiyan 3 was already showing off a lot and even managed to push Gomah down his own floating ring with a Final Flash.
From below, Gomah fires off a Mouth Energy Wave and that leads to a classic beam struggle that Vegeta beats him at and causes Gomah to be thrown above the clouds.
However, Gomah emerges, still fresh as ever while Vegeta is unable to maintain Super Saiyan 3 due to its significant energy drain and that this was his first time using this in his more powerful but also more mobile and active adult form.
Not to mention that fighting Gomah is a war of attrition due to his infinite stamina courtesy of the Third Eye.
As she watches, Arinsu realizes something and asks for Kuu to retrieve the Book of Magic Items, which he speed-reads and finds what Arinsu is looking for, details on the Tertian Oculus.Â
Arinsu shares the information about Gomah’s weakness.
If he is struck in the back of the head three times in a row, the eye will be removed from its user.
Although tired from the SSJ3 drain, Vegeta refuses to let Goku fight, with Bulma, his wife, failing to reel him back in and she tells the rest that Vegeta would rather die than give up.
However, she has one way to make his massive pride simmer down and it is…
By refusing to bathe with Vegeta again.
That was both random but also totally cute for Vegeta as he quietly relents to his lovely wife’s ultimatum.
This emphasizes how much Vegeta has grown and gained humanity, as while he continues to the prideful Prince of all Saiyans, he is also a loving husband and father who puts his family first and thus a true man for anime fans to look up to.
Goku wastes no time in his turn and begins flexing on Gomah, showing of all three Super Saiyan forms he has used up to the Buu Saga and finally, removing his top, Goku screams and unleashes a power so great that the foundations of the three Demon Worlds shake.
This was his adult Super Saiyan 4 transformation.
His childlike SSJ4 was nothing compared to this power, which means that this unlock was intended for the Daima storyline.
If the Frieza Saga was where Goku fulfills Frieza’s fear of the Super Saiyan, the Daima Saga is where Goku awakens the Super Saiyan 4 ability that merges his Oozaru powers with the Super Saiyan transformation and if you look at the bright red color, perhaps a future power, that of Super Saiyan God.
The Supreme Demon King’s Third Eye against the Monkey King.
Who will win this?
The show is about to end.
Episode 20, the finale, is titled “Maximum” and will be released on February 28, 2025, a day short of Akira Toriyama’s first death anniversary.
