One Piece Volume 111 Corrections: PARTIAL Gear 4 is Not Real
One Piece Volume 111’s corrections dispel fan speculations about the inconsistencies in the Straw Hat’s character designs.

The contents of One Piece Volume 111 featured some inconsistencies that fans have considered to be intentional on the part of Oda.
These have been used to fuel theories on how the Straw Hats are in a hallucination or simulation while being captured by Road.
These have been finally put to rest with the release of Volume 111 on March 4, 2025.
Credits to Log for identifying these corrections.
Trailer
For the release of Volume 111, a trailer was put out showing the sequence of events leading to Nami discovering herself being captured in a Diorama, the panel getting an official coloring, along with the use of real-life Lego blocks and toys.
Gear 3, Not Partial Gear 4
The volume also corrects Luffy’s use of Gear 3 during the escape from Road, as the text changes from “Gear 4” that the original held for months to “Gear 3”.
This corrects the crucial mistake in Chapter 1129: “Livedolls”, which made everyone surprised by Luffy’s seeming evolution in power by creating a partial Gear 4 transformation, something only seen with Gear 3.
Although this was the only one specified by the Twitter user Log, he did mention that the missing Axe on Luffy’s back was not corrected.
This shows that the inconsistencies in clothing were mistakes that could be neglected and not some grand conspiracy in the story or mere overthinking on the part of fans.
