In the One Piece world, there are indestructible cubes called Poneglyphs that hold pieces information about the true history of the world that can only be read by the scholars of Ohara or those with gifts such as the Three-Eyed Tribe and the power to hear the Voice of All Things.

Among them are four Road Poneglyphs, red Poneglyphs that hold the location of Laugh Tale, where the One Piece can be found.

Much like our Sukuna Fingers’ article for Jujutsu Kaisen, we will be looking at when they first appeared, their original and present locations and owners, as well as the people who hold copies of the Road Poneglyphs.

Zou’s Red Poneglyph

First appearance: Chapter 817: “Raizo of the Mist” (Zou Arc)

Location: Whale Tree, Momoko Dukedom, Zou

Owner: Momoko Dukedom

Holder: Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Luffy, Trafalgar D. Water Law (lost), Eustass Kid (lost), Marshall D. Teach (Law’s copy), Shanks (Kid’s copy)

After over 800 chapters since the start of the series and 600 chapters since the introduction of Poneglyphs (Chapter 202: “The Royal Mausoleum”), we finally get our first Road Poneglyph on the Phantom Island of Zou.

Located on the Whale Tree in the center of Momoko Dukedom, the Road Poneglyph would start the guided journey towards the One Piece for the Straw Hats, as well as the location for the formation of the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance against Kaido.

Big Mom’s Red Poneglyph

First appearance: Chapter 846: “Tamago Security” (Whole Cake Island)

Location: Unknown (original location), The Room of Treasure; Whole Cake Chateau; Whole Cake Island; Totto Land (current location)

Owner: Charlotte Linlin

Holder: Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Luffy (through Brook), Trafalgar D. Water Law (lost), Eustass Kid (lost), Marshall D. Teach (Law’s copy), Shanks (Kid’s copy)

Of the Poneglyphs on this list, Big Mom’s Poneglyph is one of the most mysterious since she always had it since the time of Gol D. Roger’s One Piece voyage 25 years ago.

The most likely time Big Mom acquired this Poneglyph would be during her time among the Rocks Pirates.

Within that 13 year gap between the God Valley Incident and Roger swiping a copy from Big Mom, Linlin already held this Poneglyph, while the rest were always stationed in their locations for the past 800 years.

Considering the placement of each Road Poneglyph, it is likely that Big Mom’s Road Poneglyph might either be from Elbaph, in spite of her banishment after killing Jarul and Mother Carmel, or from God Valley, where Big Mom acquired many treasures, including Kaido’s Uo Uo No Mi: Model Seiryu.

Of the Road Poneglyphs, this also had the most action and hype attached to it due to how most characters needed to commit daring heists within Yonko territory for a copy.

One of the most famous cases was when Brook managed to acquire a rubbing of the Road Poneglyph and even faced off against Big Mom before she defeated him and made him into her nighttime toy.

By Chapter 855: “Gugyurururu!!!”, Brook would eventually escape and provide the Straw Hat Pirates in Brulee’s Mirror World with the copy, which he hid within his skull.

Wano’s Red Poneglyph

First appearance: Chapter 1055: “The New Era” (Wano Country Arc)

Location: Mt. Fuji cavern, Wano Country

Owner: Kozuki Tenguyama, Kaido (formerly)

Holder: Gol D. Roger, Monkey D. Luffy (through Brook), Trafalgar D. Water Law (lost), Eustass Kid (lost), Marshall D. Teach (Law’s copy), Shanks (Kid’s copy)

Revealed at the end of the Wano Country Arc, this Road Poneglyph is currently hidden in a secret cavern at the foot of the submerged Mt. Fuji in the old part of Wano.

As such, its location is known to the Kozuki Family, the Beasts Pirates under Kaido that conquered Wano, and to Nico Robin, and Trafalgar Law, who were shown the Poneglyph by Kozuki Sukiyaki after revealing he was Tenguyama.

Just like the other two Poneglyphs before, Law and Kid lost their copies to Blackbeard and Shanks respectively.

Fishman Island’s Red Poneglyph

First appearance: Chapter 967: “Roger’s Adventure” (Flashback; Wano Country Arc)

Location: Sea Forest, Fishman Island, Unknown (current location)

Owner: King Neptune, Man Marked by Flames (speculated)

Holder: Gol D. Roger

Of the Road Poneglyphs we know, this one made the fewest appearances as it was first featured in the flashback of Roger’s adventure to find the One Piece 25 years ago.

This was the Red Poneglyph next to Joy Boy’s apology, which we first saw in Chapter 616: “Anniversary for Revenge”

He visited King Neptune on Fishman Island and was able to get permission to get a copy.

However, after this visit, the Red Poneglyph’s location would remain unknown or how it got lost.

However, in Chapter 1081: “Tenth Ship Captain of the Blackbeard Pirates, Kuzan”, 25 years later, there were rumors that a man marked by flames held the last Road Poneglyph yet to be recovered by any faction.
