It is noted that most of the mangaka listed here are affiliated with Shueisha and might be interpreted as the publisher’s way of giving tribute to Kenshin’s 30-year legacy as an iconic work.
Some fans have responded to the news quite negatively due to Kenshin author Nobuhiro Watsuki’s case regarding possession of CP material, which he was caught in possession of in November 2017 but only had to pay a fine of 200,000 yen (or $ 1,500) and continue working on Rurouni Kenshin: Hokkaido Arc in June 2018.

A notable absence on this list is Bleach author Tite Kubo, which has been highlighted in several fan tweets
Kubo went 2/2
Didn't endorse watsuki on his comeback a few years back nor in the 30th exhibition. My 15 years of glazing continues 😩🙏 https://t.co/dUUqtfkx5T pic.twitter.com/VnGyFTTP6D

If we are considering the Jump connection of many on this list, we can consider the absence of Tatsuki Fujimoto (Chainsaw Man), Yukinobu Tatsu (Dandadan), Yuto Suzuki (Sakamoto Days), and Takeru Hokazono (Kagurabachi).
About Rurouni Kenshin
Rurouni Kenshin is a hit manga written and illustrated by Nobuhiro Watsuki for Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from April 1994 to September 1999.
The original series has sold over 72 million copies as of 2019, making it one of the best-selling manga in the world.
Even after the original manga’s conclusion, the story continues with the Hokkaido Arc that began in September 4, 2017, which currently has 9 volumes in circulation.
A new anime series, Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Disturbance, was released on July 7, 2023 with 24 episodes made and a second season to be released on October 4, 2024.
This serves as an adaptation of the first anime series that aired from 1996 to 1998, covering similar events from the original manga.
Kenshin tells the story of Himura Kenshin, a former Bakmatsu assassin and wandering samurai who protects the people of Japan without taking another life.
