After 10 years, the mecha anime hit returns with a new episode called “Episode 24.5: Fragments of Rain -The Penultimate Truth” in its Blu-ray Disc box set to be released on March 26, 2025 in Japan.

The new episode will be included with the original 24 episodes of the 2014 anime.

Aldnoah.Zero is set in an alternate future where humans colonize Mars and establish the independent Vers Empire that wages war against the Earth after the assassination attempt of the Vers Empire’s heir, Princess Asseylum, with the two sides piloting mechas called Kataphrakts in space.

Released from July 5, 2014 to March 28, 2015, Aldnoah Zero is directed by Ei Aoki, who founded the studio Troyca, which would produce Aldnoah.Zero as its flagship series in collaboration with A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Seven Deadly Sins Seasons 1-2, Solo Levelling).

Among its writers is Gen Urobuchi, who is famous for writing Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, and Psycho-Pass.

The original soundtrack is scored by Hiroyuki Sawano, who is famous for his work in Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, and, recently, Solo Levelling.

Natsuki Hanae (Ken Kaneki of Tokyo Ghoul, Tanjiro Kamado of Demon Slayer) and Kensho Ono (Giorno Giovanna of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Yuri Briar of Spy x Family) play the male leads, Inaho Kaizuka, and Slaine Troyard, respectively.

The anime had 24 episodes, divided into two seasons of 12 episodes each. The first season aired on July 2014 while the second season began streaming on January 2015.
