Originally released on November 4, 1998, Wanted would get a digital release on June 22, 2012.
The compilation consists of “Wanted!”, “God’s Gift for the Future”, “Ikki Yako”, “Monsters”, and “Romance Dawn Version 2”.
Among the five one-shots, two were adapted into anime format.
Monsters, a 45-paged one-shot released on October 30, 1994, was adapted as an OVA (Original Video Animation) titled “Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation” on January 22, 2024 by E&H Productions and directed by studio founder, Sunghoo Park (Jujutsu Kaisen, God of High School).
Romance Dawn Version 2, the 45-paged one-shot that debuted on September 23, 1996, was adapted as Episode 907: “Romance Dawn” that aired on October 20, 2019 as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the One Piece anime.
The actual “Wanted!” one-shot, a 31-paged work released in February 1993, somewhat gets an adaptation by being featured in the One Piece Movie that was released on March 4, 2000.
Gill Bastar and (the ghost of) Wild Joe were given a brief cameo during the end credits.
