Hajime Isayama, the esteemed author of “Attack on Titan” (2009 to 2021), has just released a new manga one-shot on the February issue of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine released on January 9, 2025, tiled, “Theory of Evil Men and AI”.

The cover of this Bessatsu Shonen Magazine issue features an original illustration drawn by Isayama, as well as a special clear file featuring the cover illustration in digital form.

This one-shot is a spin-off of Yuki Kaji’s 20th anniversary project “Soyogi Fractal,” and will be illustrated by Noshigami Kai.

To note, Yuki Kaji is the voice actor of Attack on Titan main protagonist, Eren Jaeger.

Released on November 21, 2024, Soyogi Fractal is a Japanese Song Voice and Talk Voice project to celebrate his 20 years as a voice actor, using CeVIO AI, a software similar to Vocaloid with free to access voice banks for both singing and talking, aimed to make AI a helpful tool for creators.

Kaji’s character is named Soyogi Soyogi (kanji for the surname meaning, “untainted/normal” or “self-aware”).

The one-shot’s story focuses on an AI gaining self-awareness but is being overworked, so he becomes a vtuber and goes viral. However, this results in many problems and eventually brings humanity to the brink of extinction.
