Attack on Titan Voice Actress to Cover Its Most Famous Ending Song

Attack on Titan left a Rumbling-sized impact on the world through its beautiful animation but also its heartfelt music and songs.

Yui Ishikawa, the voice actress of female protagonist Mikasa Ackerman, will be singing a cover of “Akuma no Ko” (A Child of Evil), the 7th ending song of Attack on Titan that played in the Final Season Part 2 (2022), for the CrosSing project, a Japanese group that gathers various artists from the industry to make covers of anime songs.

The cover will be released worldwide on October 2, 2024 and made available on their Youtube channel.

In May 2023, a cover version of the same song was performed by Nagisa Aoyama.

The project’s covers for September 2024 included “Kick Back” (Chainsaw Man opening song) by Chiai Fujikawa and “Specialz” (Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 second opening) by May’n.

On March 30, 2024, Yuki Kaji, the voice actor for the series protagonist Eren Jaeger, has also done a cover of Akuma no Ko, which happened to fall on Eren’s birthday.

“Akuma no Ko” is the most listened ending song in the series, with the “anime special” version alone reaching over 140 million views and 129 million on Spotify as of writing.

Attack on Titan is currently celebrating the manga’s 15th anniversary.

The “Attack on Titan: The Last Attack” film will be released in theaters on November 8, 2024, exclusively to Japanese audiences for now.
