Author of Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto Manga Nami Sano Passes Away
Nami Sano passed away on August 5 due to cancer at the age of 36.
The official Twitter account of Kadokawa’s Hatra Magazine shared the heartbreaking news on Wednesday.
The creator of Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto manga, Nami Sano passed away on August 5 due to cancer at the age of 36.
The announcement shared that Sano passed away only after a month of being diagnosed with cancer.
She was in the planning stages of the new manga while she battled the disease. Harta editors shared an excerpt from Sano’s last letter. It reads,
“This ended up being a fun life. I am now going to a more free world. Goodbye.”

Sano’s relatives held a funeral on August 7 and 8.
Nami Sano made her debut with Haven’t You Heard? I’m Sakamoto. She launched the series in Harta in 2011 and completed it in December 2015.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the manga in North America. In July 2016, the company released the fourth and final volume of the manga.
An anime adaptation of the manga premiered in April 2016. Later in July 2017, Sano launched the Migi and Dali manga in Harta, which ended in November 2021.
This new manga also received an anime adaptation and premiered in October.
