Bakugo X Deku Officially Debunked By Horikoshi! My Hero Academia Manga Hints At Deku X Uraraka Being Canon Instead

He has clearly hinted at Uraraka getting together with Deku throughout the story so it makes sense for that to be canon.

It’s a cheerful day for Deku X Urakaka shippers, as Horikoshi hints at the ship becoming canon in My Hero Academia chapter 428. Which means, it’s a sad day for Bakugo X Deku shippers.

Yes, there are folks in the My Hero Academia community who have been shipping Deku and Bakugo for years and some even suspect that they harassed the author Kohei Horikoshi into making it canon, though there are no actual claims apart from a few Tweets like these:

If you read the story of My Hero Academia, there are more hints of Uraraka liking Deku throughout. There is actually REAL proof that Uraraka actually stating that she in fact FELL IN LOVE with Deku, despite Toga having feelings for Deku as well.

On the other hand, there’s no evidence for Bakugo X Deku or any hint provided by Horikoshi in any of his interviews, chapter comments or any of the sort. There are folks who even shipped Bakugo and Uraraka for some reason.

The shipping community of My Hero Academia is notorious for so many reasons and that’s why general fans of the series are happy that Horikoshi is finally heading to confirm THE SHIP that has been building up since the start.

Keep in mind that this isn’t in any way insulting the gay shippers in the community. But rather, take it like, this is the time to stop y’all from attacking others for not accepting your ship. Horikoshi is the final authority on what becomes canon and what does not, for obvious reasons.

About My Hero Academia:

My Hero Academia is a manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi. It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine, Weekly Shōnen Jump, since July 2014, with its chapters additionally collected into 40 tankōbon volumes as of April 2024.

It inspired many spin-off manga, including My Hero Academia: Smash!!, Vigilantes, and Team-Up Missions. Besides light novels, stage plays, and souvenirs, the franchise has produced many video games.
