Chainsaw Man’s most hated female character now features on the cover of its latest volume

On November 20, 2024, we get our first look at Chainsaw Man Volume 19, featuring Fumiko Mifune, a Public Safety Devil Hunter who acts as Denji’s “bodyguard” under Hirofumi Yoshida’s orders.

The volume cover shows Fumiko sitting on a chair with a backdrop showing modern art
The character is notable for being among the most despised in the online fandom due to her creepy personality and disregard for Denji as a person.
Volume 19 is titled, “Everyday Scenery”, the title of Chapter 165, and will cover Chapters 165 to 175: “Both Hands”.

The volume’s events are hinted within the promotion.
These chapters cover the current arc, which began from Chapter 156: “Whup Whup Whup Whup Bzzz Split Split” and is still ongoing as we are currently in Chapter 184: “Run, Denji”.
Chainsaw Man is a manga series written and illustrated by Tatsuki Fujimoto and is currently divided into two sagas or parts.
Part 1 is the “Public Safety Saga”, which began in December 3, 2018 and concluded on December 14, 2020 with a total of 11 volumes.
Part 2 is the “Academy Saga”, which began in July 13, 2022 and currently has 8 volumes.
From 2018 to 2020, Chainsaw Man would be published in Weekly Shonen Jump but has since been under the Shonen Jump+ app.
The series has over 28 million copies in print, and the seventh best-selling manga in 2021 with over 5 million copies sold.
An anime adaptation under Studio MAPPA was released on October 10, 2022 with a 12-episode run notable for featuring 12 distinct ending songs from different artists and adapted the first part of the series up to the Katana Man arc.
A Chainsaw Man film is in the works titled: “Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc” to adapt the Bomb Girl arc (Chapter 39: “Tearjerker” to Chapter 52: “Lost Love, Flower, Chainsaw”)
