Crunchyroll Establishes A 24-Hour Anime Channel For US Fans
The free channel is a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Game Show Network (GSN), both of which full under Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Anime streaming giant Crunchyroll has announced on Oct 11, 2023, that they’ve launched a new anime channel for fans in the United States. This free, ad-supported channel is said to run around-the-clock 24/7 day in and day out for fans to enjoy non-stop anime content!
The free channel is a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Game Show Network (GSN), both of which full under Sony Pictures Entertainment.
“GSN is thrilled by the massive response from our platform partners for this channel, which is a testament to Crunchyroll’s brand and library,” said GSN’s EVP of distribution Tim Carry. “We are grateful to bring this channel to market.”
It will include English-dubbed programing at launch with a bunch of fan-favorites making an appearance. This list includes:
- Horimiya
- Code Geass
- Ranking of Kings
- To Your Eternity
- PSYCHO–PASS
- Moriarty the Patriot
- Arifureta: From Commonplace to World’s Strongest
- Sugar Apple Fairytale
The Crunchyroll channel will be available first via Amazon Freevee, LG Channels (available on LG Smart TVs), The Roku Channel and VIZIO WatchFree+.
Crunchyroll offers the largest anime streaming service in the world, as one of the top 10 streaming companies in the U.S.
It is an American subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service owned by Sony Group Corporation. The service primarily distributes films and television series produced by East Asian media, including anime, J-Dramas, K-Dramas and other live action stuff and is headquartered in San Francisco, California.
It offers over 1,000 anime shows, more than 200 East Asian dramas in over 15 languages, and around 80 manga titles as Crunchyroll Manga, although the number of available shows varies by each country due to licensing restrictions. Crunchyroll passed one million paid subscribers in February 2017, and has over 10 million paid subscribers as of 2022.
