Dandadan Manga Sales DOUBLED Since Anime Release, New Volume Revealed
Dandadan doubled its manga sales thanks to the anime adaptation, now totaling 8 million copies sold.
After the premiere of Season 1’s final, the Dandadan manga managed to sell an additional 3 million copies after more than a week since the last update.

Last December 9, 2024, Dandadan managed to sell 5 million copies as the anime was still airing.
When the anime started, Dandandan had captured 4 million copies sold and prior to the anime’s announcement, Dandadan sold 3 million copies.
This does signify the modest success of the Dandadan anime adaptation by Science SARU as a factor in the growing popularity of the manga.

The cover features the Rokuro Serpo, the Serpo that allied with Momo Ayase’s Family, and Unji Zuma.
This volume encompasses Chapter 148: “Game Cleared” to Chapter 156: “Brella Boy”, continuing the Danmara Arc (Chapters 129 to 165), which concludes the first saga of the Dandadan series.
Volume 18 will be released on January 4, 2025.
Dandadan is a manga written and illustrated by Yukinobu Tatsu for Shueisha’s Shonen Jump + App on April 6, 2021.
As of writing, the manga will reach 18 official volumes in circulation and has a total of 177 chapters.
Dandadan is the story of Momo and Okarun (real name: Ken Takakura), two students with differing opinions about the origins of the supernatural, with Momo believing in ghosts and Okarun believing in aliens.
After losing his kintama to the Turbo Granny yokai, Okarun joins with Momo to retrieve what he had lost while facing the mysterious aliens and supernatural beings encroaching on their neighborhood.
The manga was adapted into an anime produced by Science SARU (Devilamn Crybaby, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off) that was released on October 3, 2024.
While having recently concluded last December 20, 2024, the Dandadan anime will return for a second season on July 2025.
