Dragon Ball Super WILL RETURN SOON
Toyotaro will be the solo author of Dragon Ball Super
Dragon Ball has defined the manga industry since its inception in 1984. Even after its end in 1995, Toriyama would return to penning the franchise through its sequel, Dragon Ball Super, which began serialization in Shueisha’s V Jump magazine in 2015. This time, Toriyama would not be alone as Toyotaro, his assistant, acted as illustrator while Toriyama wrote the plot of Super.
With the untimely passing of Akira Toriyama on March 1, 2024, Dragon Ball Super remains on an indefinite hiatus.
However, there is an update on the situation.
On the official website for Dragon Ball, Toyotaro confirms that the ‘Dragon Ball Super’ manga will resume.
Toyotaro: I plan to continue creating many exciting battles for fans to enjoy, so I hope you all continue to follow my work.
In the latest interview with Toyotaro sensei on the official Dragon Ball website,Toyotaro sensei commented the following at the end:

As of this posting, there is no confirmed date of the resumption of the Dragon Ball Super series.
While on break from the Dragon Ball Super manga, Toyotaro has finally completed the final chapter for Victory Mission manga, which was confirmed on July 21. The chapter is set to be released in August.
Speaking of Toyotaro, the final chapter of DBH Victory Mission will be in the last SDBH guidebook "Heroes Memories", which is set to release end of August. Not sure whether it's an actual new chapter or a reprint of Ch29 (which actually had a "To be continued" at the end🤔). pic.twitter.com/k2knqNuqgK

Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission is a spin-off manga created by Toyotaro and based on the arcade game Dragon Ball Heroes. Although Toyotaro began work on the manga in 2012, the spin-off would be on hiatus in 2015 due to the release of Dragon Ball Super. However, Toyotaro intended to finish the series while Super was on hiatus in 2024.
