On January 21, 2025, we finally got our first trailer for Gachiakuta, though it is dedicated to the main protagonist, Rudo.

With this trailer came the key visual showing his anime design.

Studio Bones is responsible for the adaptation of the manga, having also done many acclaimed series such as both adaptations of Fullmetal Alchemist, Mob Psycho 100 and Soul Eater.

It is quite relevant to note that Soul Eater is written by Atsushi Ohkubo, where Gachiakuta author, Kei Urana, got started as an assistant while Ohkubo worked on Fire Force.

Gachiakuta is a manga written and illustrated by Kei Urana for Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine, beginning in February 16, 2022.

As of writing, the series has produced 13 volumes and a total of 124 chapters.

Gachiakuta is set in a world divided into two layers: a rich upper world and the surface full of garbage. After being accused of his foster father’s murder, Rudo becomes a Cleaner that fights against the monsters made from the upper world’s garbage that falls into the Abyss.

The anime by Studio Bones is set for a 2025 release.
