Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End First Anniversary News

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End has been hailed as one of the best anime of 2023 and early 2024.

On the 1st anniversary of the Frieren anime adaptation, it was announced that Season 2 has been greenlit.

A teaser shows the key visual, with Stark’s axe, Frieren’s staff and her briefcase by a tree.

Frieren’s voice says: “Let’s start the continuation of our journey to know more about people’s hearts.”

There is no date or year confirmed as of posting.

Season 2 will continue from the manga’s 7th volume onwards.

The manga currently has a total of 13 volumes.

About Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is a fantasy adventure manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe for Shogakukan’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Sunday since April 2020.

The anime adaptation is under Studio Madhouse’s care, with Keiichirō Saitō as director, releasing a total of 28 episodes and debuted with a 2-hour pilot special containing the first four episodes on September 29, 2023.

Evan Call (Violet Evergarden) is the music composer for the series.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is the story of Frieren, the elf mage from the Hero Party that defeated the Demon King, and her journey after the retirement of her Party. Joined by her apprentice Fern and their vanguard Stark, the group would roam across the world, with Frieren wanting to learn more magic while resting place of souls in order to reunite with Himmel, the Hero of her party.

By June 2024, the manga had over 22 million copies in circulation.
