Gintama Manga Collectively Has Sold More Than 58 Million Copies Worldwide

The Gintama Panel at Jump Festa 2024 revealed on Dec 17, 2023, that all 77 volumes of the manga have collectively crossed 58,000,000 copies in circulation.

The panel also announced that the much-awaited Gintama Spinoff anime “3-nen Z-gumi Ginpachi-sensei” is slated to release sometime in 2025. You can watch the trailer right here!
As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, Gintama is officially conducting a character popularity poll, where people can vote for their favorite characters once a day from December 17th to January 31st, 2024.
About Gintama:
Gintama is a manga series written and illustrated by Hideaki Sorachi. It was serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump from December 2003 to September 2018, later in Jump Giga from December 2018 to February 2019, and finished on the Gintama app, where it ran from May to June 2019. Its chapters were collected in 77 tankōbon volumes.
Studio Sunrise converted the series into an original video animation (OVA), which premiered at the Jump Festa 2006 Anime Tour in 2005. This was followed by a complete 367-episode anime television series, which premiered in April 2006 and ended in October 2018.
Three animated films have been created. The first film premiered in April 2010. The second film premiered in July 2013. The third and last film premiered in January 2021.
