Haruo Takahashi, Manga Creator & Animator Dead At 76
Takahashi was born in Tokyo’s Hachioji city.
On Monday, the Japanese news agency reported that manga creator and animator Haruo Takahashi passed away on January 12 at a hospital in Sagamihara, Kanagawa.
The cause of Takahashi’s death hasn’t been disclosed. His eldest son Haruka Takahashi will be the principal mourner during his family’s burial.

On March 30, 1947, Takahashi was born in Tokyo’s Hachioji city.
In 1971, he created storyboards for Lupin the Third television anime, and the first Tensai Bakabon series.
He worked as an important assistant animator on the anime movie Ringing Bell (Chirin no Suzu) in 1978.
In 1978, Takahashi debuted as a manga artist.
