Deku X Uraraka fans line up! Horikoshi listened to the right crowd and COOKED HARD on the latest chapter!

My Hero Academia chapter 428 continues the epilogue of the series as we see how each of the main cast members is moving on from the perilous war between heroes and villains. Everyone seems to be doing well, except for Ochaco Uraraka, who is still haunted by Toga’s pain.

In chapter 394, Toga described how her backstory has actually made her stone-hearted and made her feel like she wasn’t accepted anywhere, despite putting on a show that she is happily working for the League of Villains. Toga empathizing with Twice is a testimony of their shared pain and suffering they underwent in society.

At the end of the chapter, Toga opens up to Uraraka about her feelings, revealing that she easily falls in love with beautiful things, whether animals, boys, or girls, because everyone has pretty smiles. Tragically, Toga was told not to smile, labeled a deviant, and ostracized for something beyond her control, which filled her with jealousy and sadness.

Uraraka’s empathy weakens Toga’s resolve to fight, leading to a heartfelt embrace in the sky. Uraraka comforts Toga, acknowledging her efforts and expressing admiration for her smile, which deeply moves Toga to tears.

Despite the desire to stay positive, the pain from her wound is a constant reminder of the recent conflict. As she places her hand on her stomach to suppress the pain, tears start to flow. At that moment, Deku arrives, shouting, “Uraraka!” just like in Chapter 342.

This made fans realize that Horikoshi is actually setting up for Uraraka to finally tell her feeling to Deku! And this cannot come at a better time, especially when she wants to move on from the past. Being with Deku would make the future a better place, a place where even people like Toga can accept.

Deku X Uraraka has been anticipated for years and fans cannot be more happy that Horikoshi is finally taking that step to make it canon! Here are some of their reactions!

Crunchyroll describes Season 1 of My Hero Academia as follows:

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.
