Hunter x Hunter Author Announces More Chapters?

Hunter x Hunter is often called Hiatus x Hiatus due to the irregularity of its chapter releases.

Fortunately, Togashi seems to be pumping up the workload while managing his health somewhat, as he has come off a two-year hiatus that began in December 2022.

On September 29, 2024, on his official Twitter account, Yoshihiro Togashi posted a surprising update on the progress of his unfinished manuscripts.

On the tweet, he says:

Chapter420: character inking completed.

Characters have been included in up to 20 unpublished chapters.

The inking work on the background is still ongoing, with minimal involvement.

The pace of publication is left to the discretion of the editorial department.

My goal is to complete inking 10 more chapters by the end of the year.

Around this time, the current batch of 10 chapters set for October 7, 2024 onwards have not yet been released and this batch will likely finish publication by December 2024.

Every batch release is also when the previous batch release is converted into the latest Hunter x Hunter manga volume, such as Volume 38, which covered Chapter 391 to 400 that were released in 2022.

However, Togashi has indicated a desire to work on 10 more chapters within the year that will be published at the discretion of Shueisha, which will indicate that there might be better spacing between chapter batch releases.

As of October 8, 2024, Togashi has nearly finished work on Chapter 421, meaning he has begun inking out the chapters he wanted to do for the rest of 2024.

At least for this time, Togashi’s pace with his work has him do one chapter per 6-7 days.

Chapter 402 will be released on October 14, 2024.
