Hunter x Hunter Author to Plan Out the Next 50 Chapters
Togashi continues to move forward with his plan to make as progress as possible with the Hunter x Hunter manga.
On December 17, 2024, Yoshihiro Togashi posted on his official Twitter account about his intention to write the next 50 chapters of Hunter x Hunter

Within the tweet, Togashi has stated that:
” I am in the process of reviewing and adjusting the characters’ dialogues and timeline for the next 50 chapters of Hunter Hunter, which will be published in the future. As soon as that work is done, I will resume the work I have been interrupting, such as adding inking to manuscripts..”
This likely indicates that Togashi has either had a meeting with his assistants or his editor from Weekly Shonen Jump to plan out the release schedule for the next 50 chapters.
With this particular number, a year’s worth of manga chapters, there is an expectation that Togashi’s current hiatus will not last long.
There is some worry about this decision as it will be similar to how Togashi worked on the storyboards for the entire 13th Hunter Chairman Election Arc in just two weeks

As of writing, Togashi’s Twitter account confirmed that at least Chapter 413 is completed and progress already made for inking the manuscript for Chapter 424.
Hunter x Hunter retuned from a 2-year hiatus with 10 new chapters. Chapters 401: “Moonlight” to 410: “Negotiation, Part 4”, to make up the upcoming Volume 39 on October 7, 2024.
The series is currently in the Succession Contest Arc, which began with Chapter 340: “Special Mission” released on March 19, 2012.
