Hunter x Hunter is on Hiatus Again
Hunter x Hunter returns to being hiatus x hiatus after an enjoyable 10-chapter run this year.
After 10 chapters, Hunter x Hunter will resume its hiatus starting this December 8, 2024 and in the afterword of Chapter 410, it is stated that the series will return once a decision is made.

The afterword states:
“The next chapter will be published as soon as it is decided.”
On October 7, 2024, after a 2-year hiatus, Hunter x Hunter returned with another chapter.
Alongside the manga’s long-awaited return, Hunter x Hunter released Volume 38, which contained the 2022 batch of chapters (Chapters 391 to 400), including the highly praised Phantom Troupe flashback.
When Hunter x Hunter was announced for a return on August 19, 2024, it was expected that Togashi would only deliver one volume’s worth of content or ten weekly chapters.
A total of ten chapters have been released since October and will make up the next volume, Volume 39 that will be released some time next year when the manga will return with more chapters.
As of writing, Togashi has finished work on Chapter 413, has finished dialogue on and is drafting Chapter 424.

In a tweet from July 2022, Togashi has stated that storyboards up to chapter 430 were made in 2018.

Togashi said the following:
About characters, I’ve finished the inking process over pencil drawing for 10 chapters! There may be some fixes, though. I’ll continue drawing my manuscripts for the next 10 chapters. Plus, I’ll announce how inking whole chapter is proceeding. I have tons of drafts.
However, fans also speculate that other storyboards were likely made between 2018 and 2024, with the speculation being that as of this time, Chapter 439 is in the draft stage.
In the 2022 tweet, as Togashi was writing Hunter x Hunter Volume 38 content, he had already begun the inking process to the storyboards for Chapters 401 to 410 (the current chapters) and continued work on Chapters 411 to 420 (the next batch after 2024).
Hunter x Hunter Chapter 410 is titled, “Negotiation, Part 4” and will be released on December 8, 2024.
