Jujutsu Kaisen has been driving the world mad with hype since its release in 2018. The series originally started out with the prequel one-shot “Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School” in April 2017. Eventually, the series would get an anime adaptation by Studio MAPPA in 2020, boosting the series’ already strong reputation to a wider international audience.

During the Jump press release held on August 19, Gege Akutami, the author of Jujutsu Kaisen, has confirmed that the series will end in 5 chapters, in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #44 out on September 30th, 2024.

In his message, Akutami stated that he intended to end the story the way he wanted and thanks the fans for their support.

Prior to the announcement, Akutami also announced at the end of Chapter 266 that a secret project is in the works, which he will further reveal after the release of Chapter 267.

Jujutsu Kaisen also ends as the best selling manga of 2024. This is from Oricon’s Yearly Ranking, which is updated every start of the month. As of August 4th, Jujutsu Kaisen has sold an estimated 6 million copies, followed by Frieren’s 4.6 million, The Apothecary Diaries at 4 million and One Piece with 3.7 million in sales.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami, beginning March 5, 2018, for Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine. As of now, there have been 27 volumes released.
