Jujutsu Kaisen, Frieren Leading Oricon Sales In 2024 So Far
One Piece and Chainsaw Man ranking low on the list due to no volume released in 2024 so far and figures mentioned are of backlog sales.
As of Feb 4, 2024, Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen manga, Kanehito Yamada’s Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End manga, Natsu Hyuuga and Nekokurage’s The Apothecary Diaries manga rank #1, #2 and #3 respectively, in Oricon’s top 10 list of the highest-selling manga series so far in 2024.

If you’re a One Piece fan and wondering, “Why is the series so low on the list?” Well, there hasn’t been a new volume released this year until the writing of this article. The last volume (volume 107) was released on November 2, 2023 and volume 108 will come out on March 4, 2024. That means, the numbers mentioned in this list are backlog sales for volume 107.
Meanwhile, Frieren didn’t have a volume released this year so far as well, and it’s backlog sales surpass One Piece’s, thereby ranking at #2.
However, Jujutsu Kaisen had already released a volume for this year. Volume 25 came out on January 4, 2024, so sales for that are going strong, thereby ranking at #1.

Jujutsu Kaisen is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami.
It has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump since March 2018, with its chapters collected and published in 25 tankōbon volumes as of January 2024.
Studio MAPPA brought the world of JJK into anime by airing 24 episodes of season 1 from October 2020 to March 2021 and a second season that premiered in July 2023. A sequel covering the “Culling Game” arc has been announced.
