Both the artists gave their comments on the occassion and their words will surely move hardcore JJK fans!
Opening theme artist Tatsuya Kitani describes the song from Gojo’s POV, recalling his time with Suguru Geto in their spring youth (Where our Blue is). Seems to be like Gojo is in love with him 😉
“The day I felt like I could go anywhere, like nothing was blocking my view. The day I realized that no matter how close “I” and “you” were, no matter how much we felt like we were looking towards the same future, we were definitively different. The day I was devastated by an error that would take a lifetime to recover from, a loss that would never touch me again. I sometimes take out and look at these precious memories of spring in my life. They can be seen in the colors of sweet reminiscence or bitter regret, and they become a walking stick for the heart after one has become an ‘adult’. This is the song of a human being who has walked in that way.”
Ending theme artist Soushi Sakiyama says the song fully expresses Suguru Geto’s feelings accumulated through his sufferings.
“I am very honored to be involved in the great work ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ with the ED song ‘Light’. The theme of the song is the changes in the character Suguru Geto’s feelings that emerge at the end of his accumulated experiences and suffering, and the emotions of the characters surrounding towards Geto. I believe that the heart is more delicate and ambiguous than we can imagine, and that it is like a tightrope walker. Respect my heart, my loved ones and others. That is my wish for this song. I hope you all like it. Thank you very much for your kind attention.”
