Kagurabachi on Netflix Already? Shonen Jump X Netflix Collaboration Hints at More Anime To Come
Kagurabachi and Akane Banashi might be the series to take Weekly Shonen Jump forward and this promotion is further proof of that.
On December 19, 2024, Netflix Japan released a trailer for their collaboration with Weekly Shonen Jump, featuring all of Weekly Shonen Jump’s best titles (One Piece, Jujutsu Kaisen, My Hero Academia), including the latest hit manga, Kagurabachi and Akane Banashi.

あの名作や話題の新作アニメも、Netflixで楽しめる!— Netflix Japan | ネットフリックス (@NetflixJP) December 17, 2024
Announced on September 12, 2024, both companies are promoting a ‘Joint Subscription Plan’, with Netflix highlighting their available anime adaptations.
Kagurabachi and Akane Banashi (another rising star of Jump) but neither of these have any anime adaptations.
Last December 2, 2024, it was announced that Cygames would be adapting Kagurabachi.
There has yet to be any developments on an Akane Banashi anime adaptation.
However, this could just be a display of the subscription plan’s feature to allow Netflix subscribers to read the manga for free as the merger brings together the Shonen Jump manga reading application feature with Netflix’s streaming service so that manga and anime fans can have the best of both worlds at a more affordable rate.
