Filmarks is one of the largest entertainment and media review apps in Japan, with over 200 million reviews for over 110,000 movies, 20,000 dramas, and 6,000 anime.
The other Top 10 Anime contenders include Delicious in Dungeon, Mashie, My Hero Academia season 7, Demon Slayer Season 4, Oshi no Ko season 2 Dandadan, Oblivion Battery, The Elusive Samurai and Orb: On the Movements of the Earth
In the previous year, “Skip and Loafer” won the Anime category, with Oshi no Ko Season 1 and Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End as contenders as well.
Due to being a review app that gathers input from many free users, Filmarks’ Awards could be a fairer alternative to Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards as these awards have been criticized for being more popularity-based and less consensus-driven.
