Legendary One Piece Director Storyboards Witch Watch Opening
Witch Watch has the distinct honor of having Megumi Ishitani as part of their staff.

Anime fans gather in excitement as the Witch Watch anime finally makes its debut on April 6, 2025.
Along with the anime, we get to see its first opening, which is notably storyboarded by the director of the acclaimed short film, One Piece: Fan Letter, Megumi Ishitani.
The opening captures the show’s romcom tone while featuring some stunning animation and clever storyboard that are trademarks of any Ishitani creation.
The song is titled, “Watch Me” by Yoasobi, who are famous in the anime industry for opening themes for anime Beastars “Kaibutsu” and Oshi no Ko “Idol”.
While there are rumors going around that she might have left Toei Animation, this is untrue as Ishitani continues to be affiliated with Toei, on top of how most animators these days can do projects with other studios.
Produced by Bibury Animation Studios (The Quintessential Quintuplets), the Witch Watch anime is an adaptation of the manga by Kenta Shinohara (Sket Dance) for Weekly Shōnen Jump since February 2021, reaching 21 volumes as of April 2025 and has sold 1.1 million copies as of 2022.
The story focuses on a teenage witch, Nico Wakatsuki, and her human-like ogre familiar and childhood friend, Morihito Otogi, as they encounter different supernatural beings and problems.
