Dandadan anime has been getting everyone hyped!

On September 16, 2024, we received a new key visual for the Dandadan anime.

This comes with the caption

A dynamic design featuring the “transformed” Okarun, Momo, Aira, Jiji, and Hoshiko’s “mysterious” beckoning cats.

Three short trailers were added to introduce the cast of characters to be featured, all within 15 seconds.

The “Love Trailer” features Okarun and Momo bickering and their developing feelings, playing to the tune of the Ending Song: TAIDADA by Zutomayo (“Time Left”, ED2 of Chainsaw Man).

The “Battle Trailer” features Okarun and Momo’s powered up forms as they take on the weird creatures.

The “Occult Trailer” is the most dense as it immediately introduces us to Tarou, an anthropomorphized anatomical model of a male human, a Serpo revealing its scissor tool, one of the alien factions of the series, the Flatwoods Monster, a yokai called Acrobatic Silky, the Dover Demon.

Additional Cast includes:

  • Flatwoods Monster voiced by Ryuuzaburou Ootomo (Crocodile from One Piece)
  • Acrobatic Silky by Kikuko Inoue (Shuuko Komi from Komi-san Can’t Communicate)
  • Dover Demon by Tomokazu Seki (Rob Lucci from One Piece, Enrico Pucci from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventures)
  • Tarou by Tomokazu Sugita (Adult Rudeus from Mushoku Tensei and Sakata Gintoki from Gintama)
  • Hana by Fumi Hirano

Science SARU is the studio responsible for Devilman Crybaby (2018) and recently, the Scott Pilgrim Takes It Off anime (2023) based on the Scott Pilgrim comics and movie.

As a frequent collaborator with Science SARU, Kensuke Ushio (Devilman Crybaby, Japan Sinks) is also onboard as the composer for the series.

On a side note, Ushio has recently done work for Chainsaw Man (MAPPA) and Heavenly Delusions (Production I.G.).

The Dandadan anime adaptation will be released on October 4, 2024 on Netflix and various streaming sites and TV stations in Japan.
