My Dress Up Darling’s Sudden Ending Announcement

On February 21, 2025, it has been announced that after 7 years, My Dress Up Darling will be ending by the next chapter to be released on March 21, 2025.

With exactly one month left, there might be only two chapters of story left to tell after Chapter 114 that has been recently released, which would fit the final volume (Volume 15 will contain Chapter 110 to possibly 115).

Although published in the bi-weekly Young Gangan seinen magazine of Square Enix, more recently, the My Dress Up Darling manga has taken on a monthly release schedule.

Fans have reacted to this with much surprise, as they felt like the story was already moving towards a new arc as Wakana Gojo and Marin Kitagawa have officially started their relationship after over a hundred chapters of will they or won’t they.

My Dress Up Darling is a manga written and illustrated by Shinichi Fukuda for Square Enix’s Young Gangan Magazine beginning January 19, 2018.

As of November 2024, there have been 14 volumes published and the series has sold over 11 million copies.

The manga would get an anime adaptation produced by CloverWorks, with its first season airing from January to March 2022, adapting the first 38 chapters.

Season 2 has been announced and is currently in production.

The story follows Wakana Gojo, who is passionate about hina dolls, helping a cosplayer, Marin Kitagawa, by making her costumes and they form a budding relationship along the way.
