One Piece Film Red Theme Song Has Topped Japan’s Anime Karaoke Song Charts!
The song also ranked fourth in the overall rankings.
On Thursday, Nagoya-based XING company announced the rankings for the most popular Karaoke songs based on the number of times sung on its online service “JOYSOUND” and “UGA2” series.
The data is from January 1 to June 5, 2023. JOJYSOUND started its service in 1992 and is one of the major Karaoke brands in Japan. They have a lineup of 340,000 songs as well.
According to their data, “New Genesis (UTA from One Piece Film Red)” performed by Ado was the most-sung anime song in the first half of 2023.
The song also ranked fourth in the overall rankings.
Furthermore, Ado was the most popular artist during this period, with the help of the One Piece Film Red theme song, “I’m Invincible”, and “Backlight”.
The second most popular song in the anime category was “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis”, the opening theme of Neon Genesis Evangelion sung by Yoko Takahashi.
Many fans found it surprising that the song is still so relevant 28 years after its release.
And, the most popular song released in 2023 was “idol” by YOASOBI from Oshi no Ko.

One Piece Film Red opened in Japanese theaters on August 6. Crunchyroll released the film in English-speaking countries last November, starting with Australia and New Zealand on November 3 then followed by the United States and Canada on November 4.
