One Piece’s Earliest Manuscript Reveals Original Name And Luffy’s First Design!
The original name for the manga was “Forward”
Recently, an old manuscript drawn by Oda, which shows his original plans for the One Piece Manga. The original name for the manga was “Forward”.
The manuscript, which is over 30 years old, reveals that Luffy’s initial name was Monkey D. Pao. The word “Pao” is roughly translated to thief in English. This was also visible in his outfit, as he wore a bandana with a spiral design on it, which is generally connected to thieves in mangas and other Japanese mediums.
It is also a design seen on Luffy’s current Devil Fruit, Gomu Gomu no Mi.
As the Egghead arc is heading towards its conclusion in the manga and Luffy and the Straw Hats are heading towards Elbaf island, fans can only imagine what Oda has in store for them. The excitement is brimming right up at the surface and we can’t wait to see what GODA has been cooking!
