Oshi No Ko Opening Theme Released By YOASOBI

The official YouTube Channel of YOASOBI「アイドル」dropped a music video featuring the opening theme song of Oshi No Ko titled “Idol” on April 12, 2023, following the release of the 90 minute long 1st episode worldwide.

Naoya Nakayama, who was the key animator, storyboarded and director of the iconic “Chika Dance” ending sequence from Kaguya-sama Love is War, also directed, storyboarded, and unit directed the “Idol” music video.

The ending theme is performed by QUEEN BEE, and the song is titled “Mephisto”.

Daisuke Hiramaki (Selection Project) and Chao Nekotomi (Love is Like a Cocktail) will be the directors for the series at Doga Kobo.  Jin Tanaka (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) will be handling the scripts & Kanna Hirayama (Rent-A-Girlfriend) will be adapting the character designs.

Aka Akasaka wrote the story and illustrations are done by Mengo Yokari. The manga is being serialized by Shuesha’s Weekly Shonen Jump since 2020 and 10 volumes are currently available.

Shuesha’s Manga PLus is releasing the manga digitally in English.

Yen Press has licensed the manga for English distribution and describes the manga,

“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense! Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).”
